అంబేద్కర్ కోనసీమ జిల్లా మలికిపురం మండలం తూర్పుపాలెం గ్రామం వద్ద ONGC డ్రిల్లింగ్ సైట్లో pipeline నుంచి గ్యాస్ భారీగా leak అయింది. పొగలా దట్టంగా బయటకు చిమ్మడం వల్ల surrounding areas అంతా gas spread అయి, స్థానికులు భయాందోళనకు గురయ్యారు.
స్థానికులు తెలిపినట్లు, recently drilling complete చేసుకొని rig remove చేసిన తర్వాత ఈ leak సంభవించింది. ONGC negligence కారణంగా కోనసీమలో ఇలా repeated incidents జరిగిపోతున్నాయని, complaints ఇచ్చినా officials పట్టించుకోలేదని locals ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు. Immediate action తీసుకోవాలని వారు demand చేస్తున్నారు.
గతంలో కూడా similar accidents సంభవించారు. January 5న మలికిపురం మండలం Irusumand గ్రామంలోని ONGC well వద్ద repair / re-drilling సమయంలో massive gas leak జరిగింది, flames కూడా పొగలేవు. Blowout incident అయి, surrounding areas خطرناک స్థితిలోకి వచ్చింది. Nearby villages evacuate చేశారు authorities. Luckily, ప్రాణనష్టం రాలేదు, అందరూ ఊపిరిపీల్చుకున్నారు.
ఇలాంటి repeated gas leak incidents వల్ల Konaseema లో safety concerns పెరుగుతున్నాయి. Locals officials ను immediate action తీసుకోవాలని continuousగా కోరుతున్నారు.
